The week of love has begun and chocolates, cards and presents are on the roll. The much celebrated Valentine’s Day is just a couple of days away and the love birds are pretty excited about it, planning the most romantic ways of celebrating it.
While some have a reason to celebrate the spirit of love, there are others who have not yet found their soulmate. Also, there are many others who have gone through bad relationships or probably lost their loved ones and because of that they don’t like celebrating this day anymore as it brings past memories back, some of which are lovely while others, really painful.
Of course wounds take time to heal and in today’s world we already have an infinite number of reasons to worry about other than love. Getting a good education, getting settled in careers, diseases, pollution, terrorism and the list goes on and on.
So let’s just stop for a moment and think. In this fast moving world we often stumble and end up cursing all the atrocities that we have to face.
While constantly thinking about lost opportunities we even miss out on new ones that come our way. We tend to lose interest in the small yet wonderful things that happen around us all the time and we also forget to admire the little moments that once made us laugh so loud that in the end we had a fulfilled day. Life sucks, whatever. Let’s get over it.
There are an infinite reasons to feel miserable, however there are even more reasons to feel happy. So whenever you feel low, just think about people who are even less fortunate than you.
If you are reading this, you probably have eyes, feel lucky about it because there are many who don’t even have that. If you are reading this, you probably have internet connection and phone/laptop/tablet which nearly 50% of India’s population still couldn’t access.
This reminds me of a quote from my friend Parvathi’s favourite book – “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” So don’t let anyone make you feel less beautiful than you are and celebrate this Valentine’s by loving your true self!

I don’t believe much in Valentine’s Day and all these days much..I believe if you are in love then each and every day is a Valentine Day and the small things you do for the person you love matters more than the gifts and all..
valentines day is a preying ground for bajrang dal and he right wing activists for the purpose of having an issue to raise against the western culture. little do they realize that the power of love is far greater than the effect of hate. its an amazing time and there is no other person you want to be with other than the one you love.
