The name has the strength to inherit a spark to every student and is a dream place to be for all the right reasons. While the newspapers and articles everywhere keep on bragging the outstanding appeal of this college, we are here with some of the not-so-common, life-changing and societal improvisations that were originated at this prestigious college and needs to be implemented in other colleges of the country. 1. From Darya to North

We all know that SRCC was established by educationalist and industrialist, Late Lala Shri Ram. But how many of you know that the fancy building in the North Campus was not always here?

Not many. SRCC was established in Daryaganj and was later shifted to its current location, in the North Campus. This shift was carried out in the year 1957. Interesting, right?

2. B.Com (Hons) and Economics-Much More in the Palate

While many of us are under the impression that SRCC has got just two courses to offer, then get ready to be amazed, as the college has many! Apart from the best undergraduate courses of Commerce and Economics, SRCC also has its hands spread across the Post-Graduate courses like M.Com, M.A in Economics, MBA and Postgraduate Diploma in Global Business Operations (GBO). The admissions are still on, rush and rectify your research now!

3. High Profile Crossroads

The season of college fests is no less than a celebration for DUites. But for SRCC, it is much more than just a fest! Crossroads (the official fest of SRCC), is the most-hyped and controversial fest of all times.

Getting glittering showstoppers like Varun Dhawan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Atif Aslam and Kailash Kher to the Crossroads, SRCC doesn’t mind spending on this celebration, as they firmly believe in “Paise Jaye par shaan na jaye!”

4. Because Awareness is the Ultimate Sophistication

Going an extra mile, the college authorities of SRCC came up with an exciting and very convenient installation of Sanitary Pads Dispensary Machine in the campus.

While the world is struggling through the cleanliness issues and adhering to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, SRCC made an inevitable achievement through this innovative idea.

This innovation not only made the life of the girls in the easier but also helped in breaking the menstruation taboo on the campus.

5. Work Hard, Play Harder

Firmly believing in “All work and no play makes Jack a Dull Boy”, SRCC has got an indoor stadium, which is a platform for the students to take a break from their nerdy life and enhance their skills in sports and games, proficiently. This is why, SRCC gives out all-rounders, not just toppers!

6. Let’s Go Digital

An unending queue outside the college library is a common sight at DU. At SRCC, NAH! The college maintains a digitally equipped library with all the technological innovations and upgradations, making it extremely convenient for the students to return or get a book, without spending hours in that looooooong queue! Thoughtful, isn’t it?

7. Getting Inspired from the Inspiration

Exciting placements, reliable faculty are not the only factors leading to the inevitable success of the SRCC folks. Making sure the students learn straight from the experts, the college authorities ensure the organising of highly motivating and skill-developing seminars, the public speakers of which, are some faces who gives some serious life goals.

Sunder Pichai (CEO, Google), Indira Nooyi (CEO, PepsiCo), Papa CJ (standup comedian), are some of the names who made an everlasting impact during the youth enlightening seminars at SRCC.

It’s not just a campus, it’s much more. SRCC takes the word “best” very seriously and offers a platform for deriving the best out of the students and giving them the learning that would lead to their glorifying tomorrow.
