Delhi University Eligibility Criteria 2018: Qualifications, Age Limit & Marks

DU admission 2018 cut off date:

DU first cut off is most likely to come out in the second or third week of June. The other cut-offs will come soon after .

Requirements for Admission

  • QUALIFICATIONS

These are the basic qualifications which DU seeks for students applying to UG and PG courses , the main being SCHOOL CERTIFICATE . This is the Information which College website provides for Minimum eligibility :

  • Qualifying examination for DU admission 2018 to the first year of undergraduate programmes offered by the University of Delhi is the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or any equivalent examination.
  • Applicants seeking admission to the programmes offered by the University should have passed the qualifying examination scoring minimum marks as specified for each of the programmes/ courses.
  • For some Boards which issue consolidated mark sheets containing marks of both 11th and 12th class, the merit of such applicants shall be determined according to such consolidated mark sheet.

This includes all the boards from CBSE , ICSE , international boards etc some of them which have a set different pattern in calculating the aggregate score .   

  • AGE BAR

There is no minimum age bar for admission to the undergraduate programmes in the University and its colleges except in the programmes where the respective regulatory bodies, such as Medical Council of India (MCI), All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Bar Council of India (BCI), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Dental Council of India (DCI), etc. have prescribed the minimum age requirement in their regulations.

  • MINIMUM MARKS

There is a minimum marks scored as per each courses available in DU and if you think your score might be on the border line , then you certainly have to check this list before applying to optional other colleges . Mostly it is a 40% minimum percentage to be scored .

  • MINIMUM PERCENTAGE REQUIRED

B.Voc (Printing Technology, Web Designing, Health Care Management, etc.) 40% Marks in aggregate.

B.Sc (Hons.) Mathematics 50% marks in Mathematics and 45% in the qualifying exam Mathematics

Undergraduate Courses

B.A.(Programme)

  • Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
  • Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.

Or

  • Pre-University Examination (2 years after ten years schooling) of an Indian University recognized by University of Delhi.

Or

  • Intermediate Examination of an Indian University/Board or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.

Specific Requirements:

  • 40% or above Pass in any one of the qualifying examinations.

 

B.A.(Hons.)English

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

  • At least 65% marks in aggregate in the Senior School Certificate Examination, Conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

Or

  • An examination recognized as equivalent to the above.

Specific Requirements:

  • 
Candidates securing 70% marks in the English Core Language in Class XII and 60% in aggregate will be eligible for direct admission. or Candidates securing 60% marks in English Elective and 60% in aggregate will be eligible for direct admission.
  • Provided that the candidate has qualified as per the above criteria in the paper of English carrying a minimum weight of 100 marks in Class XII.

B.A.(Hons.)Political Science

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

  • At least 50% in the aggregate with Political Science in any of the examinations recognized by the University of Delhi.

Specific Requirements:

  • Candidates securing 60% marks in the aggregate without Political Science in Class XII will be eligible for direct admission in Political Science (Honours) First Year. Candidates securing 45% in aggregate with Political Science as one of their subject will be eligible for direct admission.

B.Com.

  • Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
  • Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.

Or

  • Pre-University Examination (2 years after ten years schooling) of an Indian University recognized by University of Delhi.

Or

  • Intermediate Examination of an Indian University/Board or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.
  • Specific Requirements:
  • 40% or above Pass in any one of the qualifying examinations.

B.Com.(Hons.)

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

  • 55% in Aggregate, or 60% Aggregate of vocational/technical stream with commerce

Specific Requirements:

 

  • The number of seats in Business Data Processing (Subsidiary) for B.Com.(Honours) is limited and admission will be on the basis of merit.
