Programmers do not live on the normal 3 D plane. They live in some alternate universe, uninhabited by non-programmers. That is why nobody else can understand them. Move over bro-code, below are some things only pro-coders will understand:
1. Compiling apprehension
People feel anxious when they are awaiting a result, meeting a date and for n number of reasons in the world. Only a coder roommate can understand the apprehension you feel when the code is getting compiled and lets you be “in the zone”.
2. Coding Marathons
Coding is a logic, the entirety of which should ideally be executed in a single sitting. Only a coder roommate will understand and postpone the trip while others will be bugging you to take a break.
3. The importance of punctuation
Who knows how importance of punctuation, not grammar nor vocabulary, the most? A grammar nazi? No – a coder; only they will be understand your happiness and satisfaction of finally finding the missing semi-colon.
4. Happiness over finding error
The world feels sad when they find an error. Programmers feel happy. Because you don’t find an error, you FINALLY find THE error.
5. Confusion over what to do with the code
Only a coder roommate understands how fickle minded the clients are. On Tuesday they would be rooting over the portion they vehemently opposed on Monday. Nobody else would understand your dilemma as you sit staring at the code one hour after other.
6. Refusal to give KT
A programmer roommate will help you come up with innovation reasons and ways to postpone or stall the KT because only he knows as well as you do that you have no clue as to why the code is working.
7. Epic tolerance for headphones
Research has time and again proved how harmful headphones are for the ears. However, it does not apply to a certain species called crodo programmers.
Their peculiarity is that they can use headphones for days on end and can surprise even a Bose researcher with their knowledge.
8. Perfect understanding of your typical day
Everybody needs somebody to bitch with about their day. You need a coder roommate because no one else, literally no one else, can understand the peculiarities of your work, boss and life.
